March 2009 Theme: “Complementary Colors”

Deadline March 29, midnight.
One-time pre-registration required.
Only entries submitted using our online form will be considered.
Read the contest mechanics first.

Entries that do not conform to the size and naming guidelines will be disqualified.

In Issue 20, we defined the primary colors, opposite colors, and complementary colors. Although some see monochromatic colors as complementary, we will not accept them as such.

The goal of this exercise is to train our eyes to see color harmony around us, to put two or more different colors together into a complementary whole.

Monochromatic colors, on the other hand, are as suggested by the name, variations of one and the same color, not several colors harmonizing.
