February 2010 Theme: “Silhouette”


Deadline for receiving entries is last hour of Friday, March 26.

One-time pre-registration required.
Only entries submitted using our online form will be considered.
Read the contest mechanics first.

Entries that do not conform to the size and naming guidelines will be disqualified.
 

You know what a silhouette is. The question often asked is whether some detail can be allowed in the silhouette, or whether it should be a total black outline without detail.

Our answer, for this contest, is we will allow a tiny bit of detail, to differentiate photographic silhouette from a graphic silhouette.

Just remember not to overdo it, or else your photo becomes a low-key photo with little detail.

Also remember that, although the first silhouettes were profiles of people, you are not limited to human subjects.
