Registration

  1. Everybody must sign up first. Those who joined the contest in previous months need to do this now also. You need to do this only once.

Sending entries

  1. Send entries via the contest form, not via your email.

  2. Entry specifications:

    1. Do not put any identifying watermark or copyright line anywhere in the image.
       
    2. Size: maximum 500 pixels on the longer dimension.
      For example:
      Horizontal images = 500 pixels wide × WhateverHeight
      [Show how]

      Vertical images = WhateverWidth × 500 pixels tall
      [Show how]


      If you don't speak the language of pixels, 500 pixels would be 2.5 inches at 200dpi, or 6.94 inches at 72dpi.
       
    3. Compression format: JPEG, Photoshop quality 8 (equivalent to 65% quality).
      Keep the file size below 600KB or it will not be uploaded.
       
    4. Filename format:
      ‹Firstname› ‹Lastname› ‹theme› ‹entrynumber› of ‹total entries›.jpg

      example: Agripino Cuaresma action 2 of 2.jpg
      means:
      "Agripino Cuaresma" is the name of the sender
      "action" is the theme of the contest
      "2" is the second entry of Agripino
      "2" is Agripino's total number of entries

      Make sure to "Save As" and not to "Save for Web" in order to keep the EXIF values with the file.

      For those who did not rename their files upon saving, you can rename your file at the last minute right before you send. Just click the Browse button on the form, navigate to your folder, right-click on the file you are sending and choose Rename from the context menu.
       
  3. Participants are limited to two entries per contest.

Finalists

  1. The top ten finalists will be asked to send a high resolution file using the form for Submitting Winning Entries, with the following specifications:

    1. Do not put any identifying watermark or copyright line anywhere in the image.
       
    2. Size: 2100 pixels on the longer dimension, or the closest you can come to this number.

      For example:
      horizontal images = 2100 pixels wide × WhateverHeight
      vertical images = WhateverWidth × 2100 pixels tall

    3. Color profile: Adobe RGB

    4. Compression format: JPEG, Photoshop quality 11 (equivalent to 92 percent quality)

    5. Filename format: ‹Firstname› ‹Lastname› finalist.jpg
      Example: Agripino Cuaresma finalist.jpg

      If you have two entries in the final selection, use the following filename format:
      ‹Firstname› ‹Lastname› ‹imagenumber› finalist.jpg

      Example:
      Agripino Cuaresma 1 finalist.jpg
      Agripino Cuaresma 2 finalist.jpg
      has two entries in the final selection

      Make sure to "Save As" and not to "Save for Web" in order to keep the EXIF values with the file.
